Construction

My arcade cabinet is called "The Legend of Mame" because my favorite arcade game is The Legend of Kage. My cabinet isn't going to be a recreation of Kage's cabinet though. I like too many games to devote the cab to one game's look, so it will pull in elements of many of my favorites.

-General facts
-All panels EXCEPT for the control panel top are 3/4" MDF
-Control panel top is 5/8" particle board with 1/8" lexan on top
-4 player panel
-Total width = 28.5" (27" interior width)
-Total depth = 36.0"
* Due to changing hosts, I don't have all my photo descriptions intact yet.

Butchering a CD audio cable25 viewsI tried to use the end of a cd audio cable to provide a jumper for my Druin rotary interface, but it didn't work. At that point I went to Radio Shack.

Merlin the Wizard23 viewsPlayer 2 is Merlin the Wizard from Gauntlet. The joystick is a Happ Competition 8-way. The buttons are standard Happ Competition pushbuttons.

Bottom of cabinet7 viewsHeres the bottom of the cab. I didn't put on casters since I rarely move it, and if I do, I just pull it away from the wall a bit, and I have an appliance cart anyway. The cart was $70 at Menard's, and if you don't have one yet, GET ONE. Not only will it make this project infinitely easier, but you will use it many other times as well.
